August 2, 2020 @ 8:30 pm - 9:30 pm
The end of the school year is always a bittersweet time at CAC as we say “farewell” to our newest class of alumni. The class of 2020 will forever remember their unconventional conclusion of high school and the unique circumstance that surrounded our celebration of their accomplishments. On Sunday, Aug. 2, we plan to gather on Mustang Mountain for a graduation ceremony. While we know the circumstances aren’t ideal, our faculty and staff are dedicated to making this celebration memorable and meaningful for graduates and families.
When: Sunday, Aug. 2 at 8:30 p.m. | In the case of rain, we will move the event to Monday, Aug. 3 at 8:30 p.m.
Where: Mustang Stadium | Graduates will be seated on the field in front of a stage, and families will sit in assigned sections on the home side of the stadium. Faculty and staff members will sit in a special section to the side of graduates on the field.
How: Pod seating format | Each graduate will be given six tickets for attending family members. The stadium has been divided into pods that include groups of six seats. Each household will sit within the same pod, and pods have been measured for safe distancing from others. On Monday, July 13, families will receive an email with detailed instructions to sign up and select a pod for their family — first come, first served.
Staggering arrival & dismissal | The pod you select will determine the time you and your graduate will be required to arrive at and exit the stadium at the conclusion of the ceremony. We will not be providing a shuttle from the parking lot to the stadium due to complications with disinfecting the vehicle quickly.
Live stream | For friends and family who won’t be able to attend the ceremony in person, this event will be live streamed on our website.
Incorporating elements of Senior Chapel | Senior Chapel is a meaningful experience because of the fellowship through sharing memories, watching the senior video together, and reflecting with Coach Sullivan on how God has worked through the lives of our seniors. Due to the limiting restrictions on indoor gatherings, our team has decided to incorporate the most important elements of Senior Chapel into the graduation ceremony. Coach Sullivan will share a graduation message, character and athletic awards will be announced, and two special senior videos will be premiered online following the ceremony.
Prioritizing safety | Guests must wear a mask at all times. Graduates must wear a mask at all times but can remove it for a photo on stage. Sanitization stations will be set up around the stadium. More specific instructions will be provided before the event.
