ACT Aspire (6th-9th grade)
April 9 @ 8:00 am - 3:30 pm
Our ACT Aspire standardized testing will take place Thursday, April 8 and Friday, April 9, for 6th through 9th grade students. Testing has purposefully been scheduled over two days to allow students to prepare effectively. ACT Aspire provides the school with important information to help determine how students are progressing in their current grade level. Students have taken short, computer-based Aspire tests (periodic assessments) to help prepare them for the test format and question styles.
Testing for 6th through 9th grade students will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 11:30 a.m. each day (April 8 and 9).
On Thursday, April 8 students will test in the morning and return to regular afternoon classes to complete a full school day.
On Friday, April 9 students will complete testing at 11:30 a.m. and will be dismissed from school for the day. After-school care will be provided. (Please note that 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students will be excused from school and will not report on Friday.)
We appreciate your help in preparing for the upcoming tests by reviewing the information below with your child. While standardized tests do serve an important purpose and provide useful information for educators, please know that the testing process should not be made overly stressful for students. Standardized tests are not “pass/fail” endeavors, and students are not penalized for their performance. However, it is important for students to take the tests seriously and do their best so the information provided is accurate and practical. Once we receive the results, we use the test scores for various purposes, including placement in Pre-AP and AP courses for the following school year.
We’ve seen some very positive results from using the Aspire test, and I’m confident our students are prepared this year and will perform well. We are looking forward to great testing days for our students.
