FASTANGS Strength & Conditioning Program

FASTANGS is CAC’s Summer Strength & Conditioning program. The program will consist of training in these areas: strength, flexibility, agility, speed and conditioning. Participation for all Junior High and Senior High football and Junior High and Senior High basketball players is required.

Sports Camps

CAC offers a wide variety of athletic camps to keep students fit, conditioned and improving throughout the summer months. To register for a CAC sports camp, contact Gay Passafiume.

*Transportation Fee: CAC will provide transportation to the sports camps at a cost of $10/camp for the week. This is open to students attending Mustang Summer Camp. Transportation availability is subject to change based on the number of students.


Boys Hoops Camp Entering Grades 1st – 2ndBoys Hoops Camp

Location: High School Campus – Large Gym

Dates: Monday, July 23 – Tuesday, July 24

Time: 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Cost: $50

Instructor: Bradley Spencer

This camp will focus on individual skill development. Campers are taught fundamentals of the game, which include shooting, ball handling, passing, rebounding and defense. Campers are encouraged to improve through competition including several contests and games.

Boys Hoops Camp Grades 3rd – 5thBoys Hoops Camp

Location: High School Campus – Large Gym

Dates: Tuesday, May 29 – Wednesday, May 30

Time: 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. (Tuesday); 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Wednesday)

Cost: $55 for one child, $50 for each additional child

Instructor: Bradley Spencer

Football Camp Fooball Camp

Location: High School Campus – HS Football Practice Fields

Dates: Tuesday, June 12 – Thursday, June 14

Ages: Entering 1st Grade – 7th Grade

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Cost:  $60

Instructors: Tommy Shoemaker & football staff

Campers will receive instruction in the fundamentals and techniques of football including position stance and footwork, passing, receiving and route running and pass coverage.

 

Girls Hoops CampGirls Hoops Camp

Location: High School Campus – Large Gym

Dates: Wednesday, May 23 – Friday, May 25

Ages: Entering 3rd Grade – 9th Grade

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Cost: $65 for one child, $60 for each additional child

Instructor: Steve Quattlebaum

This camp will focus on individual skill development. Campers are taught fundamentals of the game, which include shooting, ball handling, passing, rebounding and defense. Campers are encouraged to improve through competition including several contests and games.

Lady Mustang Volleyball Camp

Location: High School Campus – Large Gym

Dates: Monday, July 16 – Wednesday, July 18

Ages: Entering 4th Grade – 9th Grade

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Cost: $60, pre-registration, or $65 on the first day of camp.

Instructor: Coach Lynn Brown

This camp is designed to provide an introduction to the fundamental skills of volleyball. Each camper will be exposed to basic passing, setting and serving techniques in a relaxed, non-threatening environment. The camp is led by the current CAC volleyball coaching staff and members of the high school varsity and junior varsity teams.

Mustang Baseball Camp of Champions Grades 4th – 6th

Location: High School Campus – Practice Field

Dates: Monday, July 9 – Thursday, July 12

Time: 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Cost: $55 for one child, $50 for each additional child

Instructor: Coach Patrick Smith, Coach Zach Stewart & CAC Mustang Baseball Players

CAC Mustang Baseball is one of the most decorated and tradition-rich programs in the state, with a total of 6 state championships and 2 runner-ups. We wish to continue to grow and develop young baseball players to love the game and play it the right way. This camp will focus on individual skill development. We will work on sliding techniques with Slip ‘n Slides, compete in team competitions as well as individual awards for longest throw, fastest 60, and Home Run Derby. The goal is for the ballplayers to have a great experience with baseball and learn along the way.

Theatre Specialty Day Camp

Location: Cone Auditorium (High School)

Dates: June 18 – June 22

Ages: Entering 2nd – 6th Grade

Time: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Cost: $125

Instructor: Jenna Thomas

Come and enjoy summer theatre fun! Students will study creative dramatics, acting, stagecraft, movement and play writing. Throughout camp, students will collaborate to create an original variety performance. Participants will need to bring a bagged lunch and drink every day, notebook and writing utensil. Camp will conclude with a performance on Friday, June 22 at 2 p.m. in Cone Auditorium.

 

Pat Smith Wrestling Camp

Location: Mighty Bluebirds

Dates: Friday, June 29 – Sunday, July 1

Ages: Entering Kindergarten – 12th Grade

Cost:  $180

Limited to the first 65 wrestlers

CAC wrestling is partnering with Arkansas Wrestling Academy this year. At the Pat Smith camp, you will learn the most important techniques in the four areas of wrestling (takedowns, defense, top and bottom position) that Coach Smith used to become the first four-time NCAA Champion! This is the same technique that was taught at Oklahoma State University while helping guide the Cowboys to 5 NCAA team titles as a coach!
