Volunteer Opportunities
A young child’s desire for learning is nurtured through purposeful play and experience as they are prepared for the formal school setting. An 8th grader explores numerous electives and participates in a school-wide service project. A senior excels in AP classes while juggling fine art and athletic commitments. And all students are taught and mentored by a dedicated faculty and staff that love as Christ would.
At Central Arkansas Christian, we believe our unique Christ-driven environment can be an excellent place for a student’s physical, social, intellectual and spiritual growth. We also understand the reality that support is necessary from a number of different avenues to ensure this environment stays at a high level. A simple investment of time in support of our CAC family can go a long way!
Below, you’ll find a list of opportunities to get involved and volunteer at CAC.
Golden Links
Golden Links is a prayer partnership between parents and teachers at CAC. At the beginning of every school year, a parent is matched to a teacher and spends the year encouraging and praying for them. Parents are encouraged to make contact at least once a month by writing them a note, stopping by their classroom or offering help. Also, on the first Friday of every month, all Golden Link participants meet at the secondary campus to pray.
Contact Carole Smith at prayermom1@sbcglobal.net for more information!
Parent Friend Teacher Association

We’ve been very blessed at CAC to have strong PFTA organizations at each campus with strong participation. The majority of fundraising activities and parent involvement funnel through this organization and each campus organization takes on projects and activities of its own.
To get involved in the PFTA at your child’s campus, contact one of the following:
- PV President: Lisa Kirchner | lkirchner@laserlaw.com
- SH Presidents: Colby & Dianna Neal | cdnealfamily@yahoo.com
- Secondary President: Kim Rickett | karickett@sbcglobal.net
Athletic Booster Club
The Athletic Booster Club at CAC provides assistance for all Mustang sports throughout the year. Revenues are received from concession stand sales and membership dues, which provide the club the ability to support various athletic functions, such as:
- End of the year scholarship aid to college-bound seniors who have participated in Mustang athletics
- Lodging and meal expenses for state-bound Mustang athletic teams
- Student Athletic Awards
For more information, contact Kevin Lloyd kev-son@msn.com or Duane Quisenberry dquesinberry@gmail.com.
Band Booster Club
The Band Booster Club supports our band activities and events throughout the year. Revenues are garnered from cookie and bake sales, select concession stand sales, a fundraising dinner and membership dues. These yearly funds provide support for:
- Instrument purchases and repairs, band room sound system, uniform purchases, etc.
- Spring band banquet and reception following the Christmas concert
- Year-end awards and band trailer regular maintenance
For more information, contact Xanthoula Groom xanthoulagroom@hotmail.com.
Prayer Moms
Prayer Moms is a ministry at CAC bringing mothers together with the goal of praying regularly for CAC students. This year, each student at the high school campus is prayed for by name throughout the school year. Participants receive an e-mail at the beginning of the month from the head mother of each class with names of students.
If you are interested in joining this powerful group, contact the mom in your child’s grade and provide her with your contact information. If you have been a prayer mom in the past, please sign up again so new lists can be made.

Room Mothers

At the beginning of each school year, mothers of elementary students are given the opportunity to sign up to be a Room Mother for their child’s class. Room Mothers help coordinate class parties and field trips throughout the year, and assist the teacher in various ways. Everyone who is interested in helping is given the opportunity to be a Room Mother and they work together to make our teacher’s lives easier!
For information about Room Mothers at Sylvan Hills, contact Melissa Quesinberry at mquesinberry@cacmustangs.org or call (501) 758-3160 Ext. 271.
For Pleasant Valley, contact Gay Passafiume at gpassafiume@cacmustangs.org or by calling (501) 758-3160 Ext. 261.
Pizza Moms

Pizza is sold during lunches every Monday at the Pleasant Valley and Secondary campuses and every Wednesday at the Sylvan Hills campus, with the proceeds benefiting CAC. Traditionally, mothers of current students have volunteered to help our staff during this time, but anyone is welcome. If you have an interest in helping serve pizza during Monday or Wednesday lunches, contact:
- Sonya Gates (Secondary) – sgates@cacmustangs.org; (501) 758-3160 Ext. 211
- Cheri Johnson (PV) – sotickledpink@sbcglobal.net; (501) 227-4963
- Melissa Quesinberry (SH) – mquesinberry@cacmustangs.org; (501) 758-3160 Ext. 271
Athletic Events
With numerous Mustang athletic events throughout the year, we have a consistent need for event staffing to make these activities functional. Basketball and track particularly require help working the clock, keeping the record book, etc. and similar jobs exist for our other sports.
If you have any interest in volunteering your time for Mustang athletics, contact Doug Killgore at dkillgore@cacmustangs.org or by calling (501) 758-3160 Ext. 291.
AR Store

As a reward for earning points in the Accelerated Reading program, elementary students can redeem their points for toys, computer time and gift cards at the AR Store. Approximately every nine weeks, CAC creates a “store” for these children and we consistently need help staffing this event.
For information about the AR Store at Sylvan Hills, contact Melissa Quesinberry at mquesinberry@cacmustangs.org or call (501) 758-3160 Ext. 271.
For Pleasant Valley, contact Gay Passafiume at gpassafiume@cacmustangs.org or by calling (501) 758-3160 Ext. 261.
Mystery Readers

Throughout the school year in our younger classes, “mystery readers” will often come and read to students during class. Participants usually bring something to eat and stay to read and interact with our children. It’s a treat for our classes!
For information about reading at Sylvan Hills, contact Melissa Quesinberry at mquesinberry@cacmustangs.org or by calling (501) 758-3160 Ext. 271.
For Pleasant Valley, contact Gay Passafiume at gpassafiume@cacmustangs.org or by calling (501) 758-3160 Ext. 261.
Parent Lunch Helpers

During lunchtime at our elementary campuses, parents volunteer to help young children open and prepare their meals, as well as sell snacks and treats to our older students. This usually lasts from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. each day.
If you are interested in helping during daily lunchtime at Sylvan Hills, contact Melissa Quesinberry at mquesinberry@cacmustangs.org or by calling (501) 758-3
