Mustang Monitor, March 6th
Report Card Time Greetings,
Indeed; the 3rd Grading Period draws to a close this week. There will be a 2:00 Day on Wednesday; all students dismissed at 2:00 and teachers will be finalizing and posting grades. We are definitely on the downhill slope speeding to the end of school.
Big CONGRATULATIONS and a Shout Out to the Lady Mustang Basketball Squad of coaches Quattlebaum and Gates. With three wins last week, the QCrew qualified for the 4A State Championship game (5th appearance in the past 12 years) to be played Friday at 3:30. The game will be at the Bank of the Ozarks Arena (formerly Summit Arena) attached to the Hot Springs Convention Center. More specific details will be forthcoming in a day or three so you may make plans. The coaches and team did a great job in the tournament to secure this opportunity while providing for some exciting times. We hope you will plan to make the trip to be loud and be proud. As it is the first game of the day; parking issues should be somewhat minimized. Look for more info soon.
Spring Sports season was well underway this past weekend with 6 soccer games and 2 baseball games played on Friday evening and Saturday. All were non-conference events and serve as tune-ups for the coming season. With the weather predicted for the coming days, I imagine we will be most happy we got some games in. We will also keep you posted on delays and reschedules.
This week also marks the opening of the Drama Departments Spring Musical, “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying.” This a great show, much more oriented to adults with some solid humor from the American workplace as well as some rousing choreography and rapid set and costume changes. The cast and crew, numbering over 60, under the direction of Drama-Mama, Jenna Thomas, have been working steadily since the first day of school in January. We hope you will make plans to attend one of the performances. Tickets will be available at the door and are priced at $8 for adults; $5 for students. Show times are listed on the Weekly Schedule.
Anticipating multiple updates this week; we will stop with this. We hope to see you hither and yon and thank you for your support and attendance. Do holler if we may be of assistance.
