Mustang Monitor – May 1
Brief, updating greetings,
The possible schedule for the remainder of the week into Sunday is attached. Items of note include:
Friday’s girls’ soccer game has been cancelled.
Saturday’s soccer games will be at Burns Park Field #1. #1 is the field with bleachers, press box and lights.
There will be no baseball or softball playoff game on Saturday to determine seeds 3 and 4 to the regional tournament. That seeding will be determined by seeding going into the district tournament.
Choir Concert Sunday afternoon. A really BIG bunch of kids and some great music. It’s free! Come on out.
Some Shout Outs:
Lady Mustang Softball’s Rachel Basham, in her final regular season game, hit two home runs and a triple! Three at bats, 11 total bases, 7 RBIs. That’s good; really good!
Track has qualified the following to the State Meet , Tuesday, May 5, in Heber Springs:
Lady Mustangs – Jenna Horton in the 800 m run.
Mustangs – Michael Games, Jaleel Johnson, Evan Caspary, Bryan Wornock and Alex Mina. They will compete in: High Jump, 400 m, 1600 m, 3200 m and 4X800 m Relay.
Congrats and continued good luck in the post-season.
In Alumni news, CAC grad, April Terry, was selected as the Byers Award recipient at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. The award honors the top senior athlete for her work in academics, the community and in competition. Congratulations April, we are proud of year. Earlier this month, she was also recognized as the Top Student Teacher in the Education Program.
Also, the Mustang Band and leader, Aaron Leverette, will depart about 6:45 am for their musical tour of Texas. Best wishes and prayers for safe and melodious travel. And good luck with trying to prove you can indeed play in Texas without a fiddle in the band.
It for now, happy end of the week and weekend. See you at events or when you give us a shout.
