Q&A With Lisa Lancaster

Lisa LancasterSpotlight On CAC’s Assistant to the President

Lisa Lancaster served in the Pleasant Valley Elementary office for 19 years before recently moving to CAC’s secondary campus to take over as assistant to the president for Teresa Wooldridge (who will retire this Spring). Lisa sat down with the e-Mustang staff to share a little bit about herself, her time at PV Elementary and her new role on Mustang Mountain.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you came to be at CAC.

I’m originally from south Mississippi. My daughters were three and seven when I came to CAC (they’re now 22 and 25). Carolyn Josephson was the principal at the PV campus and she approached me about a position in 1996 as the PV aide. I worked in that position for about two years before I became the secretary.

You mentioned your daughters, tell us a little bit about them.

My oldest daughter, Kayla Huffstutter, is an art teacher at Little Rock Christian, and my youngest, Jenna, is finishing up prerequisites to apply to dental hygiene school in the fall.

Through your years at the PV campus, you saw a lot of students come in and out of your office. Tell us about some of your more memorable experiences.

I was known as the official Band-Aid distributer, back-patter, the “I need to call mommy” go-to person and the tooth puller. If I had a nickel for every tooth I pulled in the past 19 years, I would be a wealthy woman!

What was the most rewarding part of your years at the PV campus?

The interaction I had with the parents and the kids – there’s no better feeling. I love taking care of people, and I was in the perfect position to do that. I love the relationships I formed with the parents and grandparents. Today they are some of my dearest friends.

What do you look forward to most about being on Mustang Mountain?

It really goes back to wanting to help and take care of people. I just want to be a servant and to be available to help with whatever people need. One thing I already love is getting to see some of the kids I had at PV. They’re so grown up now! I love seeing them again as high school students and seeing the people they’re growing up to be.

What is one thing the CAC family probably doesn’t know about you?

My high school’s big claim to fame is that Britney Spears went to school there!
