Mustang Monitor: December 11
Greetings on the downhill side,
Won’t be long at all!!! I’m sure we are all ready but there remain some important events between now and then.
Check the CAC website at http://www.cacmustangs.org/event/secondary-semester-tests/ for next week’s semester test schedule and dismissal times. Quite important be that schedule and activities!!!!
Changes (I must add, NOT of our doing), apologies nevertheless. Also, don’t forget to follow me on Twitter; the link is below. That’s the MOST up to date source for various changes.
Now, back to changes:
Thursday night, NO 7th Boys Basketball!!!! 7 girls at 4:30, followed by 9 BOYS, then 9 Girls
Friday night, NO 9 girls. That game has been replaced by JV Boys at 5:00 so NO CHANGE in scheduled start time, concession stand, duties, attendance, etc.
Many of your are familiar with AthletiCloud, the web-based program we have been using for student athlete information, communication and, most importantly, emergency contact info. AthletiCloud will be transitioning to Version 2.0, which will be significantly upgraded. It likely will include a schedule calendar, sports medicine documents and an online pay system, similar to PayPal but NOT PayPal. (The pay component is being built and will be under review by our bean counters.) There will also be a legitimate mobile device app available rather than the web-based access you now use.
Anyway, the upgrade into a totally new system will unfortunately require that you establish your account again, including emergency information. We apologize for the inconvenience however, we feel this will be highly serviceable and allow us to better care for our students. At some point in the not too distant future, you will be contacted by AthletiCloud as before asking you to input required data. More news as it happens!!!
(A bit of explanation: We are at ground level with AC. Fewer than 20 schools nationwide are using it to provide Beta-like testing. We are frequently in touch with their offices tweaking the system. AthletiCloud is a sponsor of the NIAAA (national AD association) in which I am quite active; hence the early involvement.
Band Concerts: Chapel tomorrow at 9:25; PLUS their great concert at 7:00 tomorrow evening in Cone Auditorium. Hopefully you can make it to continue the holiday cheer started with the outstanding choir concert Sunday!!!
I will be out of the office for the next week, returning Thursday, December 18. I will be attending the national conference for high school athletic directors in National Harbor, MD; a suburb of Washington, DC. My duties begin tomorrow night and end Wednesday (12/18) morning. It is a valuable time with a vast amount of learning and sharing opportunities to speak well of CAC and Arkansas scholastic athletes. I am most appreciative of Dr. Lambert and Mr. Collier for permitting my attendance. Mr Collier, Coach Cruce and Traci will be picking up some of the slack as well as Shelby Lillard in the office. Upon my departure today, I instructed the students to “Behave” so I do not anticipate any issues in my absence. If you are interested, holler upon return and I’ll fill you in on the details. While gone, I will have frequent access to email so I can address some of your needs or direct you to someone who can. Don’t hesitate to holler!
Till next week, be well, be happy and continue the time of thanksgiving and sharing of our great joys as God’s children and Mustangs!!! As a history buff and improving musician, I share with you a story and the lyrics of one of my favorite Christmas songs. Enjoy and be blessed by your reading.
