Mustang Monitor: September 13
Maybe the rain is a harbinger of fall; and the cooler weather is great too. However, life goes on at Mustang Mountain.
Some congrats for the week:
First, to seniors Kathleen McClanahan and Lauren Weaver for being named National Merit Semi-finalists!!!! Great job ladies. The program continues as they both hope to move up the honor and scholarship scale. We look forward to hearing additional great news.
Senior cross country runner, Michael Games won yet another race! Games led the pack home in a meet on Tuesday at Magazine helping to secure 4th place for the Mustang senior boys squad. Best wishes for continued success.
Mustang Football’s senior, Stephen Flanigan was selected as Yarnell’s Sweetest Play of the Week for week 1. Flanigan was honored for his outstanding TD catch in last week’s game.
There are plenty of ball game opportunities this week. We hope to see you at some of them. Remember; for home events, the Adult Season Pass is a great value (this early in the year) at $125. Purchase will allow entry at all regular season, home games for all sports and teams.
Note the information on the Weekly Schedule for two very special events, both occurring next Saturday. The Mustang Scramble is a great golf tournament held at The Country Club of Arkansas with a tee off time at 1:00 pm. Contact Chad Tappe at 501-758-3160, ext 224 to play in the event and support great activities on Mustang Mountain. On the same day for a different generation, the Drama Club will host a Music Theater Camp. This event will host and prepare elementary students to perform in the Drama Club’s Talent Show on Tuesday evening, September 23, at 7:00 pm. Word is, some music from The Lion King will be featured. Contact Jenna Thomas at 501-758-3160, ext 225 for details.
Thinking down the road a bit, in addition to pre-game Homecoming activities on Friday, October 10, at halftime, we will honor the 2004 Mustang Football team, the 3A State Champions. Spread the word to all players from that team to join us that evening for the great memories.
Also, this reminder for a good many parents, sports and activities. CAC is using AthletiCloud for a variety of purposes, the most important of which is as a communication tool. AthletiCloud is an internet, cloud based system which is most secure and is managed by CAC personnel. Sports teams and arts groups have and are using this system on a regular basis. You will likely receive notice from AthletiCloud via email to complete vital information about your student. To facilitate the communication, please make sure you check your SPAM folder and White List emails from @athleticloud.com. When you receive notification, please follow up by completing the information when you follow the link. One of the most critical uses will be emergency notification in the event of injuries or accidents. Additionally, we will use the system for group specific notices of events, changes, updates, etc. Please contact Hayden Cruce (firstname.lastname@example.org) or me with questions. Thank you for your cooperation.
That should do it for now. Have a great weekend; look to @BowTieAD on Twitter for updates and results of events. Till the next Mustang Monitor update, we bid you be well and happy. And be contacting us if we may be of help.
