More than 30 years ago, a group of Christians had a dream of a school with Christian values and service as its focus, and Central Arkansas Christian Schools was born. Today, CAC is a
leader in private education in Arkansas.
In 1971, CAC began its first year of classes with 156 students. The school used the facilities of the Sylvan Hills Church of Christ in Sherwood. In 1978, grades 7-12 were moved to a newly-constructed facility on scenic woodlands near the Arkansas River.
By 1980 the school's growth was such that a two-story addition was needed. Similar campaigns facilitated the additions of a larger auditorium and cafeteria in 1990 and 1994, respectively. In 1998 the "Securing the Vision" campaign made possible a new music building.
In a way, things have come full circle. Today the secondary campus comprises 80 acres and houses fine arts, athletics, science and technology facilities. CAC's progress and growth have caused a need for expanded and upgraded science and technology labs. CAC's facilities at all three campuses are in need of renovation. These improvements will help CAC to continue to be an exemplary Christian school.
