School Profile

Founded in 1971, Central Arkansas Christian School is an independent, private school affiliated with the churches of Christ. Overseen by a board of 12 directors and administered by professional educators, CAC receives no financial support from churches. The school operates on a 178-day school year. Classes are taught within a traditional teacher-directed Monday through Friday schedule. Classes meet for 45 minutes with the school day beginning at 8 a.m. and dismissing at 3:30 p.m. Forty certified staff members serve approximately 600 students, seventh through twelfth grades.

Accreditation

Central Arkansas Christian School is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges and the Arkansas Non-public Schools Accrediting Association. CAC is also a member of the National Christian School Association and The College Board.

Graduation Requirements

The following 24 units of credit must be successfully earned in grades 9-12 and are the minimum requirements for graduation:

  • Fine Arts - 0.5
  • Electives - 3.0
  • Bible - 4.0
  • Science - 3.0

Advanced Placement Level Courses 

Courses are available in Calculus AB, English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, Government, United States History and World History.

Class Rank

Rank is based on the students’ cumulative GPAs (grades 9-12). AP and Pre-AP courses are weighted.

GPA Computation

The GPA is the equivalent GPA quality points divided by the number of semester credits.

  • GPA = all subjects 9-12
  • AP denotes Advanced Placement and receives 1.0 extra weight.
  • Pre-AP denotes Pre-Advanced Placement and receives .50 extra weight.

  • 93-100 = 4.0
  • 90-92 = 3.7
  • 87-89 = 3.5
  • 83-86 = 3.3
  • 80-82 = 3.0
  • 77-79 = 2.5
  • 73.76 = 2.3
  • 70-72 = 2.0
  • 67-69 = 1.5
  • 64-66 = 1.3
  • 60-63 = 1.0
  • below 60 = 0
